From the foreword

Hawks Nest is hers. This book is the story of what happened when a line on a government planning map crossed it. And of what happened when Sandra decided to contest their plans.

Meet one of the book's stars - Katy McCallum. Chapter 12 tells her story. Sixteen years a Queensland police officer, then owner of the Kilkivan General Store. She was in the shop, cooking an egg and bacon roll, when she found out Powerlink planned a 500 kilovolt transmission corridor through her district for the Borumba pumped hydro project. She called a meeting and 150 people came. She founded the Kilkivan Action Group, took the fight to Canberra and ran for the seat of Gympie. Borumba's price has since blown out to $18.4 billion, and no one really knows what will happen next. Signed copies will be available on the day. Everyone welcome. Bring a friend.
